Duties:
Supervises maintenance crews.
Plans, coordinates, and manages maintenance projects on City streets, alleys, ROWs, and easements.
Supervises, schedules, assigns, and monitors maintenance projects for Street & Bridge Division.
Responsible for employees’ time sheets, vacation, sick time, overtime, evaluations, and all other appropriate documentation.
Responsible for enforcing all safety regulations. Holds monthly safety meetings.
Completes and files accident reports as needed for Risk Management Division.
Must attend Accident Review Board meetings with employees. Obtains quotes for materials and services.
Works with Purchasing Division for material contracts.
Enters all data from work orders in Asset Management System.
Oversees the maintenance of all vehicles and equipment.
Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates new employees.
Performs other duties as required. Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Some overtime after hours on holidays and weekends required.
Minimum Standards & Essential Job Functions:
High school diploma or GED, and a minimum of five years’ experience in street construction and maintenance.
Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and office administrative functions.
Knowledge of construction methods for streets and concrete structures.
Paving and sealcoat experience preferred.
Experience with construction survey methods preferred.
Pesticide and Herbicide Applicator Certifications preferred.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
Class A CDL preferred. Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
