Lifeguard - Recreation

This is a temporary/seasonal position.

Duties:
  • Preside over the enjoyment of the pool.
  • Ensure all rules and policies are adhered to.
  • Be aware of any and all safety related issues.
  • Assist any visitor that may need immediate emergency assistance.
  • Seasonal Position.
  • Hours: Sunday – Saturday, 6:30 am – 11:00 pm. Flexible hours. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

Minimum Standards & Essential Job Functions:
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school diploma.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize and manage special activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Perform job duties in a way that promotes a positive image of the City organization and the department; demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and delivers exemplary customer service.
  • Must have a current or must be able to obtain WSI and Lifeguard Certification.
  • Applicants must be certified in CPR and First Aid or currently enrolled in a certification class.
  • Prefer one year of college and Pool Manager experience.
  • Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time and work in extreme weather conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
